Habitat for Humanity of Omaha ReStore

Simple, decent shelter is a basic human need. Omaha's two Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations are discount retail outlets that address the issue of poverty housing in two ways:
Omaha's first Habitat ReStore, located at 1003 S 24 ST, opened its doors in 2000 and has been selling building materials and home fixtures at prices 50 to 70 percent lower than their retail cost ever since. In August 2012 Omaha's second Habitat ReStore opened at 10930 Emmet Street. Both locations are open to the public and are proud to offer affordable and eco-friendly ways for those living in and around the Omaha area to purchase quality new and used home maintenance and building supplies. Along with providing this valuable service to the community, Omaha's Habitat ReStore outlets have diverted a substantial number of usable items from local landfills. In 2009 more than 1,000 tons of materials were diverted from the landfill and given a second life through Habitat ReStore. |
Habitat ReStore carries everything from doors, cabinets and lighting fixtures to appliances, windows, flooring and much more. Donations come in daily, making each visit a slightly different experience.

Volunteers, donors and customers are essential to Habitat ReStore's success. Without the help of these groups of people Omaha's Habitat ReStore outlets would not be able to fund three-and-a-half Habitat homes in Omaha this year.
