Profession/Company: Owner, Bulletproof Talent Community Involvement: Branch Committee of the Nebraska Children's Home Society; Graduate Leadership Omaha Class 27. Past Experience: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Council; Next Generation Omaha. How did you first get involved with Habitat: Prior to Steve Lindsay approaching me about serving on the board, I had always had a great respect for the work of Habitat for Humanity. I know that I have been very blessed in my life and I often feel compelled to do more to give back to those who haven't had the same good fortune in their lives. Serving this organization seems like a great way to give back and make a real difference in other's lives. What do you like most about Habitat: Habitat touches people's lives in a way that transforms them and gives them hope and opportunity. I am inspired how people's lives are changed by this organization.

The rewards of this partnership are greater than simply turning over the keys to a new home; it represents a greater sense of pride and stability in some of Omaha's most neglected neighborhoods.

Victoria Trujillo - PayFlex Systems, Inc.
|
Victoria Trujillo, Board Member vtrujillo@payflex.com
Profession/Company: VP Human Resources, PayFlex Systems, Inc. Community Involvement: Endeavors in these arenas have been built through corporate sponsorship and participation. In addition to the standard community involvement we have worked to involve PayFlex with organizations that are more personal to our employee base. Many of our employees have come forth with organizations that are not widely publicized and we organize and promote those efforts. A large population at PayFlex earns a modest wage. Last year we decided that our giving back should really begin at home and thus "The Gift of Giving" was created to assist our own employees during the holiday season. We were able to provide meals, gas money, pay heating bills, essential cold weather gear and many other necessities. Participation throughout the organization was overwhelming as we anonymously provided basics to members of our PayFlex family. What do you like most about Habitat: I have been searching for an organization that would enable me to give back to the community in a meaningful way. My exposure to Habitat for Humanity through the HR Board has been very enlightening and learning about the work done by this entire organization is truly amazing. Learning about the opportunities provided to individuals to build and become part of a true community/neighborhood through homeowernership was a very moving experience for me.
